Basketball Recap: Anzar Comes Up Short

Anzar lost against Marina back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Anzar Hawks were outmatched by the Marina Mariners and fell 57-25. The Hawks were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-2.

It was another big night for Shekinah Williams, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 17 boards for Marina. Williams' evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Martin, who almost dropped a triple-double on ten points, 14 rebounds, and nine steals.

Anzar's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-6. As for Marina, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.

Anzar has already played their next game (against Gonzales), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Marina has also has no score uploaded for their next match, this one against Oakwood.
