Softball Recap: Elkhorn North Has No Trouble Against Standing Bear

Elkhorn North was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Standing Bear on Saturday. The Wolves were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over the Grizzlies. Considering the Wolves have won eight games by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Naomi Cameron was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most hits she has posted over her last nine contests. Another player making a difference was Peyton Johnson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Elkhorn North hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Elkhorn North's win bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Standing Bear, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-7.

Coincidentally, Elkhorn North and Standing Bear will both be playing Lincoln Northwest the next time they take the field. The Grizzlies will host the Falcons at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, while the Wolves will play them later in the day, at 2:00 p.m.
