Softball Game Preview: Cass Colonels vs. Cartersville Hurricanes

Cass hasn't had much luck against Cartersville recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Colonels will head out to take on the Hurricanes at 5:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Cass is headed out to face Cartersville after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. The Colonels came out on top against Woodland by a score of 7-3 on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Colonels in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won four in a row.

Meanwhile, Cartersville never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Dalton with a sharp 13-0 win.

Presley Crabbe looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Zoie Shiflett was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in September of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kinsey Woodard, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

Cass might still be hurting after the 9-0 loss they got from Cartersville when the teams last played back in September of 2024. Can the Colonels avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
