Football Game Preview: Wise Pumas vs. Northwestern Wildcats + How To Watch

Wise is a perfect 9-0 against Northwestern since September of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Pumas will face off against the Wildcats at 7:15 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Wise has five straight victories, Northwestern has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Wise's offense will try to repeat the strong performance it gave on Friday, when they got past Suitland's usually-dominant defense. The Pumas claimed a resounding 38-6 win over the Rams. The result was nothing new for the Pumas, who have now won five games by 32 points or more so far this season.

Kameron Parker and Eric Wedge Iii were among the main playmakers for Wise as the former gained 187 total yards and a touchdown and the latter threw for 261 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 13.1 yards per attempt. The dominant performance also gave Parker a new career-high in rushing yards (110). 80 of Wedge Iii's passing yards were hauled in by Sergio Torrico, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Northwestern duked it out with DuVal on Saturday. The Wildcats were beaten by the Tigers 47-6.

Northwestern's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Wise, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.

Everything came up roses for Wise against Northwestern in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 62-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pumas since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
