Basketball Recap: Sacramento Waldorf Has No Trouble Against Foothill

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lincoln, Sacramento Waldorf was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 42-20 margin over the Foothill Mustangs. The Waves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 20 points or more this season.

Sacramento Waldorf had a senior duo take command as Aubrey Payne dropped a double-double on ten points and 15 steals and Zoe Malena posted eight points and ten rebounds. What's more, Malena also racked up four assists, the most she's had since back in January. Juliet Shaw was another key player, putting up six points.

Despite the loss, Foothill still got an impressive performance from Joyce Runner, who had eight points.

Sacramento Waldorf's win bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Foothill, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.

Sacramento Waldorf will be playing at home against Buckingham Charter at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Buckingham Charter's defense has only allowed 23.6 points per game this season, so Sacramento Waldorf's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Foothill, they will head out to face off against Elk Grove at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
