Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask White County). They never let the Johnson Knights get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory on Tuesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Warriors considering their one-run performance the contest before.
Trevor Butler looked comfortable as he struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). White County is 3-1 when Butler allows one or fewer earned runs, but 9-14 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Cooper Garrett was incredible, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of White County's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 9-2 (and 3-13 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Grant Gooch, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
White County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.
