Football Game Preview: Cloudcroft Bears vs. Escalante Lobos + How To Watch

The Cloudcroft Bears will head out to challenge the Escalante Lobos at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Cloudcroft has given up an average of 44 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Cloudcroft is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New Mexico's top teams: Clayton, who was ranked 16th at the time (Cloudcroft was ranked 25th). The Bears took a blow against the Yellowjackets on Saturday, falling 52-0. The game marked the first time this year in which the Bears were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, after only 12 points in their last contest, Escalante made sure to put some points up on the board against Questa on Saturday. The Lobos put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 34-12 win. The victory continues a trend for the Lobos in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won seven in a row.

Cloudcroft's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Escalante, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.

Cloudcroft lost to Escalante on the road by a decisive 28-14 margin when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Bears avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
