Softball Recap: Coronado Cougars vs. Lewis-Palmer Rangers

Coronado had lost four straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 8-15 to make it five. They came up short against the Lewis-Palmer Rangers, falling 18-4. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rangers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Coronado saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Allie Micci, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Harper Dunham was another, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

As for Lewis-Palmer, they moved to 3-19 with that win, which also ended their 17-game losing streak. They not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since August 23rd (when they won 18-3).

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Coronado will venture away from home to square off against Cheyenne Mountain at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lewis-Palmer, they will head out to face off against Discovery Canyon at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Thunder have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.1 runs per game on average), something the Rangers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
