Basketball Game Preview: West Point Dragons vs. Shadow Ridge Stallions

The West Point Dragons will square off against the Shadow Ridge Stallions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. West Point knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 17 games -- so hopefully Shadow Ridge likes a good challenge.

West Point will bounce into Friday's contest after beating Valley Vista, who they had gone 0-4 against in their four prior meetings. West Point blew past Valley Vista 79-54 on Wednesday. Given the Dragons' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 27th, while the Monsoon are ranked 194th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Shadow Ridge was beaten by Chandler 69-41 on Friday.

West Point will have to keep a close watch on Weston Eubanks and Payton Garcia, a pair of players who had a big impact on Shadow Ridge's prior game. Eubanks posted ten points and seven rebounds, while Garcia earned ten points.

West Point pushed their record up to 14-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.3 points per game. As for Shadow Ridge, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season.

West Point came up short against Shadow Ridge in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 58-54. Thankfully for West Point, Seth Bohon (who went 9 for 16 en route to 23 points along with five boards and three steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
