Soccer Game Preview: Golden Valley vs. Oakdale

The Golden Valley Cougars will venture away from home to challenge the Oakdale Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Golden Valley's offense. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Turlock on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Oakdale, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They put the hurt on Manteca with a sharp 4-0 win on Monday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Mustangs needed considering they were shutout in their previous contest.

They hit Manteca with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Ashlyn Splettstoesser, Kaia Cox, Dakota Burford, and Ceci Cotton.

Golden Valley now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Oakdale, they moved to 5-6 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Golden Valley took their win against Oakdale when the teams last played back in December of 2016 by a conclusive 4-0. Will Golden Valley repeat their success, or does Oakdale have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
