Basketball Recap: Fulton Comes Up Short

Fulton lost against Northridge Academy back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Fulton Jaguars were outmatched by the Northridge Academy Pumas and fell 66-6.

It was another big night for Janelle Estrella, who went 6 of 10 from beyond the arc on her way to 30 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals for Northridge Academy. Those 30 points gave Estrella a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jennalyn Gerona, who dropped a double-double on ten boards and ten assists.

Fulton has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for Northridge Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fulton has already played their next match (against Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Northridge Academy is taking a road trip to challenge Sherman Oaks CES at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Sherman Oaks CES is on a seven-game streak of home wins, Northridge Academy a nine-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
