Volleyball Recap: Carolina Forest Comes Up Short

Carolina Forest lost against North Myrtle Beach back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Panthers came up short against the Chiefs, falling 3-0. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-9, 25-16.

Mikayla Altena had an outrageously good game for North Myrtle Beach as she had 35 assists and 12 digs. Altena is crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 13 every time she's taken the court this season. Lilly Loeswick was another key player, hitting 59.4% for 20 kills and 15 digs and five aces.

Carolina Forest's loss dropped their record down to 12-6. As for North Myrtle Beach, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 26-3.

Carolina Forest and North Myrtle Beach should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings. The Panthers will face off against Dillon Christian at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday with a big rank advantage (38 vs. 176). Meanwhile, North Myrtle Beach (ranked second) will meet St. James (ranked 40th) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
