The Palmer Ridge Bears will square off against the Holy Family Tigers at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Palmer Ridge is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Everything went their way against Pueblo Central as they made off with a 12-2 victory. The win was familiar territory for the Bears, who have now won four contests in a row.

Pam Boyarko was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off seven hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Palmer Ridge got a massive performance out of Savanah Martinez, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most doubles Martinez has posted since back in September. Another player making a difference was Tehani Lum-Perreira, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Palmer Ridge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pueblo Central only posted a batting average of .240.
Meanwhile, Holy Family faced Frederick in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Tigers put the hurt on the Golden Eagles with a sharp 10-4 victory. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Golden Eagles recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.
The team relied heavily on Jaelyn Sandoval, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI and two doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of Giuliana Magnetti, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Palmer Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 23-4. As for Holy Family, their win bumped their record up to an identical 23-4.
Saturday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Palmer Ridge hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .396. However, it's not like Holy Family struggles in that department as they've averaged .316. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Palmer Ridge might still be hurting after the 12-0 defeat they got from Holy Family when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Can the Bears avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
