Softball Recap: Lamar Thunder vs. Valley Vikings

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Brush, Lamar was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Valley Vikings as they made off with an 11-1 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Thunder as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Carlin Weber made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). Weber was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alexa Aguilar, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Shayla Sigala, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Lamar's victory bumped their record up to 13-11. As for Valley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season.
