Baseball Game Preview: Stratford Academy Eagles vs. John Milledge Academy Trojans

The Stratford Academy Eagles will head out to take on the John Milledge Academy Trojans at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Wednesday, Stratford Academy came up short against St. Anne-Pacelli and fell 4-1. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Vikings: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, John Milledge Academy didn't have quite enough to beat Stratford Academy on Tuesday and fell 6-5.

Ayden Whidby was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That one hit allowed gave him a new career-low. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Whidby wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kolt McMichael, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

Stratford Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for John Milledge Academy, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 12-4.

Stratford Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against John Milledge Academy in their previous meeting on Tuesday, sneaking past 6-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
