Football Recap: Giles County Finds Home Field Redemption Against Lincoln County

There's no place like home for Giles County, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They walked away with a 28-20 victory over the Lincoln County Falcons on Friday. For the Bobcats, this counts as revenge for the 22-0 win the Falcons walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Giles County can attribute much of their success to Xavier Randolph, who threw for 177 yards and one touchdown while completing 73.3% of his passes, and also rushed for 40 yards and one score. Those 40 rushing yards gave Randolph a new career-high. Dallas Buckner was another key player, gaining 44 total yards and two touchdowns.

Another reason for the win was Giles County's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. In that department, Braylon Davis was the leader with two.

Lincoln County's loss came despite strong showings from Carsen Carter and Trashawn Jean. Carter rushed for 116 yards on only 13 carries, while Jean gained 52 total yards and a touchdown.

Giles County's record now sits at 2-3. As for Lincoln County, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

Coming up, Giles County will head out to take on Cascade at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lincoln County, they will be playing at home against Tullahoma at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Carter and Marvancy Johnson.
