Football Game Preview: Walnut Mustangs vs. South Hills Huskies + Official Tickets

Walnut hasn't had much luck against South Hills recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Mustangs will challenge the Huskies at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Walnut is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Chino on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Mustangs lost 35-14 to the Cowboys.

Walnut didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Keneh Ejike and Jacob (JRod) Rodriguez.

Meanwhile, South Hills came up short against Diamond Bar on Saturday and fell 32-21.

Walnut will have to contain Jaylen Lang as he made an impact in South Hills' last game. He rushed for 100 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries.

South Hills' defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Walnut, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

Walnut came up short against South Hills when the teams last played back in October of 2024, falling 20-16. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
