Baseball Recap: Lyons Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Willowbrook, Lyons was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Downers Grove North Trojans, sneaking past 2-1. This was a revenge game for the Lions: when they faced off against the Trojans last Wednesday, they had to take a 4-0 loss.

Lyons got a great performance from Tommy Cavaliere as he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. That's the most strikeouts Cavaliere has posted since back in April.

Lyons' record is now 21-9. As for Downers Grove North, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-11.

Lyons will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Trojans: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
