Basketball Game Preview: Scranton Prep Cavaliers vs. Valley View Cougars

Scranton Prep is on a 11-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Valley View is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Scranton Prep Cavaliers will welcome the Valley View Cougars at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Last Tuesday, Scranton Prep humbled North Pocono with a 63-16 victory. Given the Cavaliers' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked seventh, while the Trojans are ranked 134th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Valley View made easy work of Wallenpaupack Area on Tuesday and carried off a 53-29 victory.

Valley View's win bumped their record up to 11-0. As for Scranton Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 8-0.

Scranton Prep took their win against Valley View in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 55-31. Does Scranton Prep have another victory up their sleeve, or will Valley View turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
