Lithia Springs hasn't had much luck against Douglas County recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Lithia Springs Lions challenge Douglas County Tigers at 5:30 p.m. Douglas County took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Lithia Springs, who comes in off a win.
Last Thursday, Lithia Springs got the win against South Cobb by a conclusive 16-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.

Domani Weems made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Weems is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.
In other batting news, Lithia Springs got a big performance out of Caleb Garrett, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. The dominant performance gave Garrett a new career-high in stolen bases. Another player making a difference was Jason Walters, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Lithia Springs always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .778. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Cobb only posted an OBP of .500.
Meanwhile, Douglas County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 17-2 to Rome.
Douglas County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Bemus, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI. Chaztin Meade also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Lithia Springs now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Douglas County, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Lithia Springs has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 11 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Douglas County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Lithia Springs might still be hurting after the 11-0 defeat they got from Douglas County in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Lithia Springs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
