District 9 Region 3 Top Player Performances of the Week

Congratulations to this week's top players! We're covering the best performances across Friday and Saturday's football action (using all statistics entered as of the time of writing). Enjoy!

A Season-Best Effort from Colby Barr Leads Sheffield over Union City

Sheffield was led to victory by Colby Barr, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Saturday. Barr rushed for 177 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. That high mark didn't come from nowhere: he has now rushed for 101 or more in the last six games he's played dating back to last season.

If history really does repeat itself, Barr might just drop another big game when he faces off against Bucktail on Saturday. Back in August (the last time Barr saw the Bucks), he rushed for 101 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries, and also threw for 116 yards and a touchdown on only ten passes.

Alex Marfink Turns in Another Game with at Least 19 Total Tackles

On Saturday, Sheffield got the W thanks in part to Alex Marfink playing the best football he has all season. Marfink wasn't messing around, picking up four sacks and making 32 total tackles (6.0 for loss). The game was his sixth straight with 19 or more total tackles.

If the past is any indication, Marfink could be in store for another big game when he takes on Bucktail on Saturday. Back in August (the last time Marfink saw the Bucks), he picked up three sacks and made 24 total tackles.
