Softball Recap: South Cobb Comes Up Short

South Cobb's last matchup with Westlake could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Wednesday. The Eagles came up short against the Lions, falling 22-13. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Thursday (11), the Eagles still had to take the loss.

Jada Emenalo and Janiya Fields did some serious damage despite the final result: Emenalo went a perfect 5-for-5 with six stolen bases and four runs, while Fields went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Tellann Brown, who went 4-for-5 with three RBI.

South Cobb now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Westlake, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Looking ahead, South Cobb will square off against Hillgrove at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The game will give the Eagles their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Westlake, they will take on Southwest DeKalb at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
