Basketball Recap: Galt's Losing Streak Snapped at Seven Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Rosemont, Galt was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They blew past the Bradshaw Christian The Pride 40-18. The win was some much needed relief for the Warriors as it spelled an end to their seven-game losing streak.

Leading Galt to victory were Emily Pena and Alexandra Gonzalez Landa. Pena posted ten points along with six steals and five boards, while Gonzalez Landa put up 11 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. Gonzalez Landa has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last ten times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Antanella Feilbach, who scored four points and ten rebounds.

Despite the defeat, Bradshaw Christian had strong showings from Lauren Kane, who had four points and 13 boards, and Leah Kubiak, who earned four points along with ten rebounds and four steals. Those ten boards gave Kubiak a new career-high.

Galt's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-19. As for Bradshaw Christian, they dropped their record down to 1-19 with the loss, which was their ninth straight at home.

Galt will welcome Amador at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bradshaw Christian, they are taking a road trip to challenge Union Mine at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
