Football Recap: Wingate's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Wingate). They walked away with a 53-40 win over the Tohatchi Cougars on Friday. The victory was familiar territory for the Bears, who have now won five games in a row.

Wingate didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Riley Morgan. Morgan is crushing it when it comes to interceptions: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

Wingate's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Tohatchi, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.

Looking ahead, Wingate will venture away from home to square off against Thoreau at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bears will need to watch out since the Hawks have now posted at least 31 points in their last five matchups. As for Tohatchi, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Santa Fe Indian at 1:00 p.m. The Cougars are facing the Braves at the right time seeing as the Braves are stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
