Football Game Preview: St. Pius X Sartans vs. Valencia Jaguars + Official Tickets

The St. Pius X Sartans will venture away from home to challenge the Valencia Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Pius X will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.

St. Pius X's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 50-0 win over Chaparral. The Sartans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead St. Pius X to victory, but perhaps none more so than Hershul Olloway Jr, who rushed for 131 yards and a pair of scores on only five carries. Olloway Jr is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 102 every time he's taken the field this season. Another signal caller making a difference was Isaiah Carpenter, who threw for 157 yards and four TDs while completing 71.4% of his passes.

St. Pius X didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Cayl Cox-Liggins.

Meanwhile, Valencia was able to grind out a solid victory over Manzano on Saturday, taking the game 22-14.

St. Pius X's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Valencia, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Everything came up roses for St. Pius X against Valencia when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 65-28 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Jaguars' Michael Storms III, who rushed for 205 yards and one touchdown.
