Softball Recap: Forest Park Panthers vs. Pace Academy Knights
Forest Park extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping them down to 8-12. They came up short against the Pace Academy Knights, falling 18-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 22-3 back in September.
As for Pace Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-8. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won nine games by seven runs or more so far this season.
For Pace Academy's part, Amelit Hall made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those seven strikeouts gave Hall a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Pace Academy got a massive performance out of Katie Wrigley, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs Wrigley has posted since back in October of 2024. Bodhi Venturi was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Looking ahead, Forest Park will welcome Banneker at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Pace Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against East Paulding at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
