Basketball Recap: Rylee Mahaffey's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Purchase Line over Penns Manor + How To Watch

Purchase Line lost against Penns Manor back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Red Dragons took a 56-42 bruising from the Comets. While losing is never fun, the Red Dragons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 242nd, while the Comets are ranked 31st).

Purchase Line's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rylee Mahaffey, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 11 boards. Another player making a difference was Leah Nelson, who shot 45% from the field to rack up 11 points and five assists.

Purchase Line has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season. As for Penns Manor, they pushed their record up to 8-0 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Purchase Line and Ferndale will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Penns Manor will take on West Shamokin in a holiday battle at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
