Volleyball Recap: Saturday's Win Is Shawnee's Ninth in Last 11 Outings

The Shawnee Indians earned a 2-0 win over the Lehman Catholic Cavaliers on Saturday.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Shawnee was: they took both sets by at least 12 points. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-12.

Shawnee found their leader in sophomore Chelsea Burkholder, who had 23 assists and six digs. Burkholder is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 13 or more in each of the last 11 games she's played.

Shawnee has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for Lehman Catholic, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-10.

Shawnee and Lehman Catholic should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Indians (ranked 92nd) will meet Memorial (ranked 322nd) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Lehman Catholic will challenge Riverside at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (329 vs. 702).
