Football Game Preview: Lake Travis Cavaliers vs. Westlake Chaparrals + How To Watch

Lake Travis is 2-8 against Westlake since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Cavaliers will head out to challenge the Chaparrals at 7:30 p.m. Lake Travis will come into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.

Lake Travis is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Texas' top teams: Dripping Springs, who was ranked 16th at the time (Lake Travis was ranked seventh). The Cavaliers walked away with a 14-7 victory over the Tigers on Friday. Those 14 points were actually the fewest the Cavaliers have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Vann Hopping continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 69 yards and one touchdown, while also picking up 34 receiving yards.

Meanwhile, Westlake got the win against Bowie on Friday by a conclusive 30-7. The squad ran away with 28 points in the first half and mostly just sat on those to pick up the win.

Lake Travis' record now sits at 7-0. As for Westlake, their record is now 6-1.

Lake Travis couldn't quite get it done against Westlake in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 as they fell 24-17. Can the Cavaliers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
