Basketball Recap: Redbank Valley Piles Up the Points Against Port Allegany

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Redbank Valley walked away with it. They blew past the Port Allegany Gators, posting a 70-38 victory. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 contests by 20 points or more this season.

Mylee Harmon continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double with 38 points and ten rebounds. She has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 20 times she's played. Quinn White was another key player, putting up 12 points and three steals.

Several Gators players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ella Moses, who posted 19 points. What's more, Moses also posted a 67% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brynn Evens, who earned six points and ten boards.

The win was the fourth in a row for Redbank Valley, bringing their record for this year to 20-6. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 26.2 points. As for Port Allegany, their loss dropped their record down to 18-6.

Redbank Valley and Port Allegany are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Redbank Valley will face off against Rochester at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Port Allegany, they will take on Winchester Thurston at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
