Soccer Recap: Sandy Creek Comes Up Short

Sandy Creek and Northwest Whitfield squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Sandy Creek had to settle for second. They lost 8-2 to the Bruins. While losing is never fun, Sandy Creek can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 250th, while Northwest Whitfield are ranked 47th).

Alejandro Chinchilla and Donovan Lipson scored both of Sandy Creek's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 15 goals.

Sandy Creek's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-9-1. As for Northwest Whitfield, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-2.

As of now, neither Sandy Creek nor the Bruins have any future games scheduled.
