Basketball Recap: Truckee Wolverines vs. Dayton Dust Devils
Truckee had lost three straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 5-5 to make it four. The game between the Wolverines and the Dayton Dust Devils didn't end well, with the Wolverines falling 36-21. The Wolverines were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Dust Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.

Elsa Voegele and Sophia Killian certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Voegele posted nine points in addition to eight boards and four blocks, while Killian had seven points. Voegele is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in each of the last five games she's played.
As for Dayton, their record now sits at 7-3. While they didn't have the best season last year (they finished 1-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Dayton was led to victory by Samantha Jimenez and Lisinita Tulimafua-Curran. Jimenez dropped a double-double with 11 points and ten steals, while Tulimafua-Curran earned seven points and five steals. The dominant performance also gave Tulimafua-Curran a new career-high in assists (four). Another player making a difference was Olivia Mollet, who put up six points and three steals.
Looking ahead, Truckee will be home for the holidays to greet Spring Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Dayton, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on White Pine at 2:15 p.m. on January 1, 2026.
