Two dominant signal callers in Chase Campbell and Jakob Garcia are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Frenship Tigers will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Permian Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Frenship knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Permian likes a good challenge.
Frenship was handed a heart-breaking three-point loss in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Odessa on Friday. The Tigers claimed a resounding 47-6 victory over the Bronchos. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Bronchos recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Braiden Dunkerson had a dynamite game, rushing for 191 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 8.0 yards per carry, and also picking up 32 receiving yards. Those five rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Frenship proved: they limited Odessa to a paltry 3.3 yards per carry. The team can thank Noah Lopez for the heroic effort on defense: he. Frenship's ground attack was stronger, having averaged 5.1.
Frenship didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Dominique Bradley, Alexander Smith, and Chrishaud Davis picked up one apiece. Lopez was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making 11 total tackles.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Permian). They skirted past Midland Legacy 51-48. Surprisingly, this marked the Panthers' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.
Frenship better keep an eye on Gavin Black. He was instrumental in Permian's win, rushing for 320 yards and four scores while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. With that strong performance, Black is now averaging an impressive 111.1 rushing yards per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Cayden Hernandez, who picked up 89 receiving yards and one TD.
The victory got Frenship back to even at 4-4. As for Permian, their win bumped their record up to 7-1.
The upcoming contest will be a clash of competing strengths. Frenship has relied on air attacks this season and has averaged 305.8 passing yards per game. Permian, on the other hand, has relied on a stout run game: they average 150.8 rushing yards per game. So which strategy will prevail on Friday? There's only one way to find out.
Frenship strolled past Permian in their previous meeting back in November of 2024 by a score of 44-27. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Black, who rushed for 236 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.3 yards per carry. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will the Tigers still be able to contain Black? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
