Basketball Recap: Aidan Mckinney Key Part of Team Effort in Griffin Win

Diller-Odell's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They snuck past the Bruning-Davenport/Shickley Eagles with a 44-38 victory. For the Griffin, this counts as revenge for the 62-53 win the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2017.

Diller-Odell's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Aidan Mckinney led the charge by going 6-for-12 en route to 13 points in addition to six boards and five steals. Those 13 points gave Mckinney a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Berkelee Beekman, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and ten rebounds.

Bruning-Davenport/Shickley's loss came despite strong showings from Olivia Schlegel and Claire Hinrichs. Schlegel shot 50% from the field on her way to 15 points and eight boards, while Hinrichs posted ten points and eight rebounds.

Diller-Odell's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Bruning-Davenport/Shickley, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Diller-Odell has already played their next contest, a 47-40 win against Sterling on the 12th. As for Bruning-Davenport/Shickley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 32-24 defeat against Dorchester on the 12th.
