Baseball Game Preview: Butler Aviators vs. Springboro Panthers

The Butler Aviators are taking a road trip to square off against the Springboro Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Butler's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Springboro's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Butler is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Ohio's top teams: Archbishop Moeller, who was ranked third at the time (Butler was ranked 23rd). The Aviators took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fighting Crusaders on Saturday. The Aviators have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Springboro had just enough and edged out Fairfield 5-4 on Thursday. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Indians recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Butler's defeat dropped their record down to 19-5. As for Springboro, their victory bumped their record up to 19-6.

Butler skirted past Springboro 7-6 in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Aviators since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
