South Charleston's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They claimed a resounding 62-15 victory over the St. Albans Red Dragons. The win was some much needed relief for the Black Eagles as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

A big part of South Charleston's victory came down to the chemistry between Ceno Riley and his top target Malcolm Brown. Riley rushed for 126 yards and one TD while Brown rushed for 188 yards and a pair of scores on only 11 carries. What's more, Riley racked up 110.3 passer rating, the most he's had since back in August of 2024. Another player making a difference was Devin Lazo, who picked up 122 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

South Charleston was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 427 rushing yards. They are 2-1 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

South Charleston's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for St. Albans, their defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-7.

Looking ahead, South Charleston will host Riverside at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Black Eagles will be up against the Warriors' rather soft defense (which has allowed 30.86 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for St. Albans, they will venture away from home to square off against Lincoln County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Red Dragons will be up against the Panthers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 51.83 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
