Basketball Game Preview: Los Altos Eagles vs. Monta Vista Matadors

The Los Altos Eagles will challenge the Monta Vista Matadors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Last Friday, Los Altos came up short against Lynbrook and fell 39-31. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 528th, while the Vikings are ranked 183rd).

Meanwhile, Monta Vista's game on Friday was all tied up 22-22 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 49-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of Milpitas. The Matadors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Los Altos' loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Monta Vista, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-5.

Los Altos was dealt a bruising 64-31 loss at the hands of Monta Vista in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Los Altos was down 36-10.
