The Edmund Burke Academy Spartans will head out on the road to square off against the Thomas Jefferson Academy Jaguars at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Edmund Burke Academy knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Thomas Jefferson Academy likes a good challenge.

On Friday, Edmund Burke Academy made easy work of Westminster Christian Academy and carried off a 13-1 victory. Considering the Spartans have won eight matches by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 13 runs the game before, Thomas Jefferson Academy was a bit more limited in their game on Thursday. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Westminster Christian Academy. The Jaguars' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Gavin Bailey made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Edmund Burke Academy's win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Thomas Jefferson Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6.

Edmund Burke Academy beat Thomas Jefferson Academy 5-0 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Edmund Burke Academy since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
