Basketball Recap: Irvine Comes Up Short

After flying high against Dana Hills on Thursday, Irvine came back down to earth. The Vaqueros fell 56-50 to the Newport Harbor Sailors on Friday. The Vaqueros were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Sailors apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2024.

Irvine now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Newport Harbor, their victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Irvine and Tustin will compete for holiday cheer at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Newport Harbor will take on Segerstrom in a holiday battle at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
