Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Burroughs walked away with it. They came out on top against the Pioneer Titans by a score of 58-48 on Wednesday. Winning may never get old, but the Bears sure are getting used to it with their eighth in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Pioneer lost, don't look at Daysia Almendarez. Despite the final result, she en route to 15 points in addition to five boards and three steals. Almendarez has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alissa Belen, who posted seven points and three steals.

Burroughs' victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 23-10. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.9 points over those games. As for Pioneer, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-12.

Burroughs didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 57-45 loss against Rolling Hills Prep on the 22nd. Pioneer does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
