Softball Recap: Parkway North Vikings vs. St. Dominic Crusaders

Parkway North had lost nine straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 1-11 to make it ten. They lost 15-0 to the St. Dominic Crusaders. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Vikings of the 18-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

As for St. Dominic, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by six runs or more this season.

For St. Dominic's part, Annie Alsop looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Alsop has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Brylie Mills, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in October of 2024. Another player making a difference was Mackenzie Roth, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with three runs and one RBI.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Parkway North will square off against Lutheran South at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for St. Dominic, they will challenge Ritenour at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
