Softball Recap: Georgia Military College Gets the Win

It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Georgia Military College ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They skirted past the Johnson County Trojans 5-4. This was a revenge game for the Bulldogs: when they faced off against the Trojans on September 4th, they had to take a 13-5 defeat.

Sadie Schell spent all ten innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on four hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, Bella Stubbs was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in October of 2024. Another player making a difference was Haley Knight, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Georgia Military College kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 3-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

With the victory, Georgia Military College broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-9. As for Johnson County, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-8.

Coming up, Georgia Military College will welcome Lake Oconee Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Johnson County, they will head out on the road to challenge Georgia School for Innovation & Classics at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Trojans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Patriots have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season.
