Basketball Recap: Viewmont Vikings vs. Farmington Phoenix

Viewmont was the 73-41 winner over Farmington when they last played one another back in November of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Vikings lost to the Phoenix on the road by a 67-52 margin on Tuesday. The Vikings were down 52-32 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Loss or not, Viewmont got some senior leadership from Carson Tovey and Tyson Bromley. Tovey shot 41% from the field on his way to 19 points along with five steals and three blocks, while Bromley went 5-for-10 en route to 13 points and three steals. Farmington's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Isaac Anderson led the charge by going 7-for-9 to rack up 18 points and five boards. Anderson is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Luke Beattie, who posted 12 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.

Viewmont's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Farmington, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.
