Soccer Game Preview: East Mountain vs. Oak Grove Classical Academy

The East Mountain Timberwolves will head out on the road to face off against the Oak Grove Classical Academy Owls at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Oak Grove Classical Academy took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on East Mountain, who comes in off a win.

On Tuesday, East Mountain needed a bit of extra time to put away Rehoboth Christian. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Lynx 2-1. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but East Mountain were the better team in the second half.

Kaamez Hataburda and Angelo Gutierrez scored both of East Mountain's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 15 goals.

Meanwhile, Oak Grove Classical Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 4-2 to Bosque. That's two games in a row now that Oak Grove Classical Academy have lost by exactly two goals.

The victory made it two in a row for East Mountain and bumps their season record up to 13-4-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored seven goals over those two matchups. As for Oak Grove Classical Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-12.

East Mountain skirted past Oak Grove Classical Academy 3-2 in their previous matchup two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Timberwolves since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
