Baseball Game Preview: Liberty County Panthers vs. Claxton Tigers

The Liberty County Panthers are taking a road trip to take on the Claxton Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Liberty County and nine for Claxton.

Liberty County fell victim to Southeast Bulloch and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 10-0 to the Yellow Jackets.

Liberty County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bryce Coley, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Claxton also failed to score in their most recent game. They came up short against Metter on Thursday, falling 12-0.

Claxton's defeat dropped their record down to 2-17. As for Liberty County, their loss dropped their record down to 10-14.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Liberty County has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Claxton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Liberty County beat Claxton 6-1 when the teams last played back in March of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
