Soccer Game Preview: Poly vs. Smidt Tech

The Poly Parrots will take on the Smidt Tech Grey Wolves at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Smidt Tech took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Poly, who comes in off a win.

Poly is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They put the hurt on George Washington Prep with a sharp 11-2 win. Valerie Aguilera was a massive factor in the win as she booted in four goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Smidt Tech was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Animo De La Hoya. That's two games in a row now that Smidt Tech have lost by just one goal.

Poly's victory bumped their record up to 5-6-5. As for Smidt Tech, they now have a losing record of 7-8.

Everything went Poly's way against Smidt Tech in their previous matchup back in May of 2021, as Poly made off with a 23-0 win. Will the Parrots repeat their success, or do the Grey Wolves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
