Basketball Recap: Cadence Murdough's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Higley over Williams Field

Higley suffered their closest loss since December 21, 2024 on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Williams Field Black Hawks by a score of 61-58. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Higley's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cadence Murdough, who dropped a double-double with ten points and ten boards. Murdough is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last 13 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Sophia Moreira, who posted ten points and three steals.

Even though they lost, Higley was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. They racked up six more assists than Williams Field's also-impressive total of 12.

Williams Field's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Autumn Thomas, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 11 boards. Corrine Jones was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to ten rebounds and four steals.

Higley's loss dropped their record down to 15-11. As for Williams Field, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season.
