Soccer Game Preview: Clarke Central vs. Jackson County

The Clarke Central Gladiators will face off against the Jackson County Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Clarke Central comes in on seven and Jackson County on three.

Jackson County better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if last week is any indication, that's when Clarke Central really gets things going. Clarke Central's defense stepped up to hand North Oconee a 3-0 shutout on Tuesday. Considering the Gladiators have won four contests by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Jackson County's game on Tuesday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 2-0 win over Oconee County.

Jackson County's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 20 goals over those four matchups. As for Clarke Central, their win bumped their record up to 7-0.

Everything went Clarke Central's way against Jackson County when the teams last played back in March of 2022, as Clarke Central made off with a 5-0 victory. Does Clarke Central have another victory up their sleeve, or will Jackson County turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
