Recap: Corning Cardinals vs. Gridley Bulldogs
The Corning Cardinals's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 13th straight loss. They were the victim of a rough 58-37 loss at the hands of Gridley. Corning has struggled against Gridley recently, as their game on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Leading Gridley to victory were AnaGloria Luevano and Brook Marr. Luevano scored 21 points along with five steals, while Marr dropped a double-double on 27 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it 11 consecutive games in which Marr has scored at least a third of Gridley's points.
Corning dropped their record down to 1-20 with that loss, which was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Gridley, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-11.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Corning will take on Oroville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Oroville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 last Thursday. As for Gridley, they will head out on the road to face off against Orland at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Orland focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten last Wednesday.
