Recap: Sylmar Spartans vs. Legacy Tigers

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Sylmar Spartans had no problem doing just that on Friday. They had just enough and edged the Tigers out 53-50. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Sylmar has posted since January 6th.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sylmar to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mia Ceja, who scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Vivianna Alvarado, who scored 14 points.

Legacy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Evelyn Tostado, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. Tostado continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Casillas, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and five steals.

Sylmar's victory bumped their record up to 15-8. As for Legacy, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-11.

Sylmar will head out on the road to face off against George Washington Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Legacy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
